Eroglu to propose a ‘linguistic’ division in Geneva

The Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu, according to an article in the Turkish newspaper Yeni Safak will be proposing a linguistic division of Cyprus similar to the Belgian Government Model instead of an ethnic division. Under this proposal, only Turkish-speaking civilians will be allowed to live in the ‘Turkish’ side while only Greek-speaking civilians will be allowed to live in the ‘Greek’ side with the exception of persons who are over 65 years old.
