Sunday’s power cuts due to Turkish Cypriot generator breaking down

Even though it was announced that there wouldn’t be any power-cuts this weekend and while all seemed to be going that way until today, a generator in the occupied areas broke down sending Electricity Authority of Cyprus back to power rationing. At the moment there is no electricity being provided to the Republic of Cyprus from the Turkish Cypriot power station which until now accounted for 100MW. There is no indication as of to when the generator will be fixed but it is certain that if it is not brought back online by tomorrow when the demand for electricity will go back up again we will be again facing two power cuts per day.
