New measures to combat hooliganism

After the incidents in Limassol on the 13th,the police has come up with new measures to avoid similar situations in the future. According the a statement of the police spokesman Michael Katsounotos, in case of a similar scenario, where the organised supporters manage to enter the stadium by force without being subjected to body search the referee of the game will be informed that the police is unable to guarantee the safety at the stadium, which would imply that the match should not even start. In case of violent incidents during the game such as supporters throwing objects, the police will again inform the referee and suggest that the game is immediately stopped. Furthermore the police will not allow fans to exit and re-enter the stadium during half time which was allowed until now.
