Cyprus State Fair Authority shut down

The cabinet at its yesterday’s meeting has decided the immediate cease of operations of the Cyprus State Fair Authority. The organisation has been requesting its closure for the past few months being unable to maintain the premises, operate and support its employees with debts of over 6 million euro.

A 200,000 euro aid was approved by the president to cover the immediate expenses and the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism has been authorised to submit a bill to transfer the State Fair personnel to other departments of the public sector. The premises, and responsibilities of the State Fair Authority will become property of the Republic.
