A big change is being planned for Faneromeni school building, the landmark in the heart of the old Nicosia town at the end of Ledra street. According to Phileleftheros newspaper University of Cyprus and the Church which owns the school are in discussions which will lead to the conversion of the school into a department of UCY. School children will be moved to another school in the area and according to the Ministry of Education will not be hard since their numbers have been gradually diminishing in the past few years. The change is welcomed by the municipality which expects it will bring new life into the already busy area.
