35% of Cypriot voters say won’t be voting for Euro Parliament 2014

According to a survey that was done on behalf of CyBC about the upcoming European Parliament Elections which are taking place in May, 35% of Cypriot voters will abstain from the elections. If this number becomes a reality it will be the highest ever recorded. The most disturbing outcome of the survey though, is the fact that out of the 35% who will not vote, 85% declared that their reason is that they are disappointment with the political parties and politicians.

Is it safe to assume that voters are not just disappointed but also no longer trust the politicians after the way things turned out the past couple of years? Is not voting making things any better though?
